Description

Experience the Gold Standard of Darjeeling Teas in Premium 50g Loose Leaf Format

The Arya Finest Tippy Gold delivers an immediately recognizable aromatic profile when you open the pouch—notes of ripe muscatel grapes, floral honey, and sun-warmed stone greet the senses before brewing. In practice, the golden tips unfurl beautifully in hot water at 85-90°C, releasing a bright amber liquor with a delicate astringency balanced by natural sweetness. The leaves themselves display the characteristic two-leaf-and-bud plucking standard, with abundant silvery-gold tips that indicate careful hand-harvesting during peak flush periods. This 50g portion provides approximately 25-30 cups depending on brewing strength, with leaves robust enough for a second infusion that reveals deeper caramel undertones.

FTGFOP Grade Excellence from Himalayan Tea Estates

This tea carries the FTGFOP designation—Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe—which represents the highest orthodox tea grading standard recognized by international tea authorities. The leaves originate from high-altitude Darjeeling estates situated between 1,800 and 2,200 meters in the Himalayan foothills, where cool nights and misty mornings create the terroir responsible for Darjeeling's reputation as the "champagne of teas." Orthodox processing methods preserve the whole leaf structure without the crushing and tearing used in commercial tea production, maintaining essential oils and complex flavor compounds. The abundant golden tips indicate careful selection of the newest, most tender buds, which concentrate natural polyphenols and deliver the tea's characteristic brightness and complexity.

The 50g format provides an excellent introduction to premium Darjeeling without the commitment of larger quantities, making it particularly appropriate for gift sets or personal tasting exploration. Both the pouch and tin options ensure proper storage to maintain the tea's delicate aromatics, though the tin offers superior protection for those in humid climates or planning extended storage beyond three months.

Frequently Asked Questions About Arya Finest Tippy Gold

What brewing method produces the best results with this Darjeeling tea?
Use 2-2.5 grams of leaves per 200ml of water heated to 85-90°C, steeping for 3-4 minutes for the first infusion. A second infusion at 4-5 minutes reveals deeper caramel notes while maintaining the characteristic muscatel brightness.

How should I store the 50g pouch or tin to preserve freshness?
Store in a cool, dark location away from strong odors, moisture, and direct sunlight. The resealable pouch should be kept tightly sealed after each use, while the tin naturally provides airtight protection for up to six months when properly closed.

What distinguishes this tea as "gold standard" compared to other Darjeeling offerings?
The FTGFOP grade classification, abundant golden tips, orthodox processing, and single-origin sourcing from high-altitude estates collectively represent the highest quality tier in Darjeeling tea production. The golden tips specifically indicate first or second flush harvesting when leaves contain peak flavor compounds.

Can this tea be enjoyed with milk or is it best consumed plain?
This premium Darjeeling is best appreciated plain or with minimal additions to experience its complex muscatel and floral notes. The delicate flavor profile can be overshadowed by milk, though a small amount of honey complements the natural sweetness if desired.

Comment
This tea is quite amazing. Once the tea bag goes into the hot water, the tea turns a vivid shade of blue, which can be a bit disconcerting if you’re not prepared! I have to add a bit of honey, since the taste is very subtle. My adult son says it makes him very sleepy before he goes to bed, which he appreciates.
