Brewing Guide

  • Amount: Use 1-1.5 teaspoons (2.5g) of tea per cup (180 ml).
  • Water Temperature: Heat water to 194°F - 203°F (90°C - 95°C).
  • Steep Time: Steep for 4-5 minutes.
  • Serve: Enjoy hot or iced. This blend is delicious on its own, but can be sweetened with honey if desired.

What a wonderful tea! The tea leaves are from South Africa, which is important as this is the region it should come from. It’s a high-quality tea with a perfect flavor profile. I have 2-3 cups of this a day. It can be enjoyed black, or with lemon and honey, or with milk and a touch of honey

Dogs can benefit from this herbal blend, often referred to as Essiac, but it needs to be prepared as a tea. To make it, simmer two teaspoons of the blend in a quart of water for ten minutes, then scrape any herbs on the sides back into the liquid. Let it sit overnight before straining. Start with a very small dose. For my 75-pound dog, I use two tablespoons twice a day, but you may want to begin with a tiny amount to avoid killing pathogens too quickly. Simply adding hot water won't release the herbs' full benefits; they need to be decocted (boiled) for the best effect.
